The UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) has concluded an extended contract with aircraft manufacturer Airbus worth £190 million for the maintenance of A400M Atlas military transport aircraft in service with the Royal Air Force (RAF). Under the terms of the agreement, the availability of the aircraft fleet is expected to increase by 30%, which should strengthen the logistical and transport capabilities of the British armed forces. The contract also includes provisions to preserve over 350 jobs across the United Kingdom, supporting the local aviation industry and related sectors. The A400M Atlas aircraft are used by the RAF to perform a wide range of tasks, including the transport of personnel, military equipment and cargo, as well as participation in humanitarian missions. Increasing the reliability and availability of this fleet is seen as an important step in ensuring the country's defence capability and its ability to respond promptly to international challenges. This agreement forms part of a broader strategy for modernising Britain's military infrastructure and strengthening cooperation with European partners in the defence industry.
