The European Commission has announced €3.4 billion in funding to support 77 European projects in zero-emission technologies. The financing is provided under the second call of the Innovation Fund, launched in December 2025. The EU Innovation Fund is one of the world's largest financing instruments for demonstrating innovative low-carbon technologies. It is designed to support companies developing and implementing solutions in sectors such as renewable energy, energy storage, carbon capture and storage, as well as hydrogen production and other alternative fuels. The selected projects span various economic sectors and EU member states, contributing to the continent's transition to climate neutrality. The Commission's decision underscores the EU's continued efforts to achieve the goals of the European Green Deal and reduce greenhouse gas emissions in accordance with the bloc's long-term climate commitments. The Innovation Fund's financing is generated through revenues from the sale of allowances under the EU Emissions Trading System, enabling funds to be directed directly to developing technologies necessary for decarbonizing industry and the energy sector.
