Britain and Turkey held the sixth round of negotiations on concluding an expanded free trade agreement (FTA). Following the meeting, both sides reported progress in discussions on key economic sectors that are to form the basis of the future agreement. The negotiations covered a wide range of topics, including trade in goods and services, investment, and the removal of barriers to business. Both sides emphasized that the goal of the agreement is to strengthen bilateral economic ties, create new opportunities for companies, and promote growth in trade between the countries. Representatives of Britain and Turkey noted the constructive nature of the negotiations and expressed their intention to continue working on the agreement in subsequent rounds. Official details of agreements reached on specific items have not yet been disclosed, however, both sides stated their commitment to completing the negotiation process in the foreseeable future.
