NASA has announced an invitation for media representatives to a demonstration of a new lunar landing simulator located at the Ames Research Center in Silicon Valley, California. The event will be held over two days — Thursday, October 29, and Friday, October 30. The simulator is designed to practice spacecraft landing scenarios on the lunar surface and is used by agency specialists as part of preparations for future lunar exploration missions. Journalists will be given the opportunity to observe the equipment in operation and receive comments from project participants. Ames Center is one of NASA's key divisions involved in developing technologies for aerospace research, including projects related to returning humans to the Moon as part of the Artemis program. Creating such simulators helps engineers and future astronauts practice complex maneuvers in conditions as close as possible to real-world scenarios, which reduces risks during actual missions. Organizing press tours of this kind allows NASA to demonstrate progress to the public in preparing for new stages of space exploration and increases transparency in the agency's work ahead of upcoming lunar missions.
