The European Commission presented the latest edition of its daily news bulletin from Brussels, with special focus on a new Eurobarometer study. The survey examined the attitudes of European Union youth toward participation in democratic life, as well as their views on current youth issues and the role of the EU in everyday life. According to the presented data, there is an increase in the engagement of young Europeans in public and political processes. Young people are increasingly expressing interest in participating in decisions that affect their future, and demonstrating higher levels of trust in participatory democracy mechanisms. The study also showed that young people highly value the practical benefits that EU membership brings: from learning and employment opportunities to freedom of movement and access to educational programs. However, respondents pointed to a number of issues that remain relevant for the younger generation, including questions of employment, affordable housing, and economic stability. Eurobarometer results are traditionally used by European institutions to shape youth policy and adapt EU programs to citizens' real needs. The publication of this survey coincides with the current European Commission agenda on engaging the younger generation in decision-making processes at the union level.
