The UK Health and Safety Executive (HSE), in collaboration with the government initiative GOTT, has developed a new tool for working with workplace safety data. The project is based on the RIDDOR database, which contains information on mandatory reporting of injuries, illnesses, and dangerous incidents in the workplace. As a result of this work, a beta version of a dashboard has been created — an interactive data visualization panel that allows users to analyze accident statistics, identify patterns, and assess risks across various industries and regions. The tool is designed to simplify access to government workplace safety data and make it more useful for both occupational safety specialists and the general public. The creation of the dashboard is seen as a step toward so-called "monetization" of government data — that is, transforming accumulated statistics into a practically applicable product that can benefit businesses, researchers, and regulatory bodies. Such initiatives align with a broader trend in government administration aimed at increasing transparency and accessibility of data collected by government structures. Developers note that the project is in the beta-testing phase, which implies further refinement of functionality based on user feedback. It is expected that in the future, the tool will help companies and regulators respond more quickly to emerging workplace risks, reducing the number of injuries and accidents across various economic sectors.
