Global Voices announced the launch of a new special project in partnership with The Hague Institute for Innovation of Law (HiiL) — an organization engaged in research and innovation in the field of law. The goal of the joint initiative is to demonstrate how justice systems function as essential infrastructure for any society, on par with such sectors as healthcare, education, or transportation. The project authors intend to gather and present materials from different countries around the world that illustrate how access to fair justice affects people's daily lives, economic development, and social stability. Special attention is planned to be given to stories and examples from regions where traditional media pay little attention to legal system issues. Global Voices, known for its network of volunteer journalists and translators worldwide, traditionally covers topics that remain in the shadow of major media. The new project continues this mission, focusing on justice as a fundamental yet often underestimated element of social structure. The editorial team appealed to readers to support the initiative, emphasizing the importance of independent coverage of such topics and the need for funding to continue work on the project.
